World Alzheimer's Month is the international campaign from Alzheimer’s Disease International. It takes place every September and along with raising awareness of the disease, it works to bring together people from all over the world to stand united in efforts to advocate on behalf of those suffering from the disease. Traditionally, Alzheimer’s has been challenged by the certain stigma of the disease. Many reasons have led to this, including the incorrect belief that dementia is a normal part of aging. This drives the point that more needs to be done to bring Alzheimer’s to the forefront of the national, statewide and local conversations.
