Francisco Gutierrez, M.D. has been a member of the Clear Choice ER team of critical care physicians since 2020. His wealth of experience in Emergency Room medicine made him a clear choice in joining the group, and we are delighted to have him treat our patients.

Dr. Gutierrez earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, and 

then completed his Residency in Internal Medicine from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. Soon after, he served as Director of the Internal Medicine and Emergency Department at the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Mexico. IMSS, a governmental organization that assists public health, pensions, and social security, operates under the Secretary of Health, and is an integral part of the Mexican healthcare system. He also founded and served as director of the Emergency Residency program at IMSS. 

Shortly after, Dr. Gutierrez relocated to the U.S. where he completed a Residency in Family Medicine at Minot Center for Family Medicine, University of North Dakota. He remained in Minot and worked as a Hospitalist before relocating to Laredo to set up his Family Medicine practice. He also pursued his passion of practicing emergency medicine by filling in when needed at local ER facilities.

Proficient in both English and Spanish, Clear Choice ER is proud to have Dr. Gutierrez on board serving our patients in emergency care.
